Joslyn’s legal practice focuses on transactional work for real estate buyers, sellers, investors and developers, lenders, large and small businesses, estate planning for individuals. She has practiced in the Roaring Fork Valley since 1996; previously with Leavenworth & Karp, P.C., and in 2004 as a founding partner of Hill, Kinney & Wood, LLC. Joslyn and Kelcey founded Wood Nichols, LLC in 2013.
Joslyn’s extensive transactional experience enables her to effectively handle customized business, lending and real estate transactions, and draft creative estate plans. She handles a broad range of legal issues for her clients, ranging from helping first-time home buyers to advising national businesses in complex real estate development and financing matters. Prior to moving to the Roaring Fork Valley, Joslyn practiced business and transactional law in Texas and Hawaii. In Hawaii, as a Deputy Attorney General, she represented the State of Hawaii in developing and financing its affordable housing projects and litigated cases involving the condemnation of the fee simple interests of residential real property.
Joslyn is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the University of South Carolina School of Law where she was an editor of the law review. She currently holds active licenses to practice law in Colorado, Texas and Hawaii and is admitted to practice before state and federal courts in all three states. She is a member of the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the American Bar Association and serves on the board of directors of two non-profit organizations; The Gathering Place and Kukuiwaluhia Foundation, Inc.
Joslyn enjoys hiking, skiing and spending time with her daughters when they are home from college. She lives in Carbondale, Colorado with her husband and four dogs.
